PTSO Leadership Needs

We still have a few leadership positions to fill this year and we need your help! Here’s an overview of each of our open positions:

  • Corporate & Community Partnerships: Identify and work with local businesses and community members to secure donations of volunteers, money, and supplies for East Meck; form partnerships to benefit our students and staff. Time commitment: variable, as much as you are available; can be done from home.
  • Hospitality: Participate in open houses, back to school nights and IB informational sessions as needed. Coordinate ad-hoc tours of the school if they arise (along with Student EMbassadors). Look for other ways to extend hospitality to potential, future or current students and families.  Time commitment: moderate, yearlong; will require ability to be at school during specific events.
  • Spirit Nights & Easy Money: Contact area restaurants to set up regular East Meck Spirit Nights; publicize events and report earnings to PTSO Board. Create awareness and encourage participation in various school fundraising programs offered by companies and grocery stores in our area, primarily grocery store card links, etc.  Time commitment: low-moderate, can be done from home.
  • Student Advocacy: Improve the lives of students and families by advocating for issues that affect them at the local, state, and federal levels. The committee’s goals include educating families, improving communication and supporting students and families. The Advocacy committee works with the NEST clothes closet and the School Angel Tree.  Time commitment: moderate, yearlong.

If you’re interested in or have questions about any of these positions, email vicepresident@emptso.org.

Support Our Direct Give Fund

Each year we ask for donations to the East Meck PTSO Direct Give fund. Direct Give donations support school needs throughout the year. You can make a tax-deductible donation straight to the PTSO Direct Give general fund: nothing to sell, nothing to buy.

We count on donations from our parents, families, alumni and other supporters. There are three easy ways to make your 2026 tax deductible donation:

  1. Donate online: emptso.org/donate
  2. Drop a check off at the front office made out to the EMHS PTSO
  3. Mail a check to East Meck PTSO, Direct Giving Campaign, 6800 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212

Don’t forget to check with your employer to see if they will match your gift!

Encourage your student to use this donation letter to send to family, friends, and neighbors. All donations go directly to meet student, staff, and school needs.
